Reasons We Love to Live in Villebois

We get asked a lot of great questions about Villebois. Green Group Real Estate’s office, located in the Villebois Village Center, gets lots of walk-in traffic from visitors interested in moving to our community. They are interested in not only Villebois real estate, they want to know about the neighbors, the schools, the amenities, and the city of Wilsonville in general. Of course, we are happy to answer these questions! We love talking about living in Wilsonville, and especially life in Villebois. It’s our specialty! Green Group is passionate about Villebois as a neighborhood, community of friends, and a fantastic place to call home. Today we’ve decided to summarize why we love Villebois in a few Reasons We Love to Live in Villebois. Here we go!

1. Access to nature.

The Villebois Master Plan will include roughly 170 acres of parks, trails, and open green space when all is said and done. There are numerous unique parks & innovative playgrounds throughout the Villebois neighborhood that have amazing features and beautiful preserved mature trees.

Graham Oaks Nature Park Villebois

The Graham Oaks Nature Park, which borders Villebois, provides walking and biking trails. This 250-acre destination is a playground not just for people, but also for wildlife. With restored oak woodlands growing bigger every year, Graham Oaks provides important habitat for native birds and mammals. Bring your family, bring your camera, and bring your picnic to the sustainable new picnic shelter.

2. Exceptional Schools.

Lowrie Primary School opened in 2012 right here in Villebois!

West Linn-Wilsonville schools earned the highest rating on their school report cards, reflecting that their performance ranked among the top 10 percent of schools statewide in 2013, according to the Oregon Department of Education. Our schools have maintained music, fitness and art programs. The student-teacher ratio is still low enough to promote effective learning. Also, the West Linn – Wilsonville School District is an open district so you have the option of picking between West Linn or Wilsonville schools.

3. The Wilsonville Farmer’s Market

We have the fabulous Wilsonvile Farmer’s Market that is right in the Villebois neighborhood! Footsteps from your house it features local farmers, food carts and live music every Thursday evening from 4-8pm, June-September. It’s now a tradition for many Villebois residents to eat out at the farmer’s market throughout the summer. Residents of Wilsonville celebrate every Thursday as Villebois is transformed into Wilsonville’s living room theater. With over 45 vendors, a fantastic summer concert series, nightly cooking demonstrations and special events… they’ve got your dinner, dessert, groceries and entertainment covered!

4. Community!!!

We always tell visitors that when you move to Villebois, you have an instant sense of community. What does that mean? It means that Villebois welcomes new neighbors with open arms. There are new families moving in all the time and there are so many opportunities to get to know your neighbors and join in events. The Villebois Events Committee makes sure that there is always something fun and engaging on the calendar – Fourth of July parade & BBQ, Easter Egg Hunt, the Halloween ‘Villeboo’, and Christmas caroling are just a few examples. Girls Night Out rotates at a different home in Villebois each month. Join in on a friendly game of cards at Poker Night. Join the Villebois Book Club or one of the Bunco groups. The opportunities to connect are endless.

5. The Villebois Comunity Center

The Villebois Community Center was completed in May of 2013, and is sure to impress. It includes a gym, a sparkling Olympic-sized swimming pool, a community/game room with kitchen and bar, and a conference room

6. Piazza Villebois.

Photos from the 2013 Concert in the Piazza

The heart of Villebois is at the recently completed Piazza Villebois, a beautiful European-inspired, hardscape park that features an impressive fountain, two bocce ball courts, a children’s maze, and twinkle lights. Park benches invite residents of the neighborhood to sit and enjoy the natural surroundings and listen to the bubbling fountain. Piazza Villebois has already been host to some fanatastic neighborhood events. Green Group proudly hosted a Root Beer Float & Bocce Ball Tournament, as well as the first of many Concert in the Piazza. As the Villebois Village Center develops, we look forward to enjoying lively retail, a coffee shop, & restaurants around the Piazza.

7. Beautiful homes.

Part of the beauty of the Villebois Master Plan is the variety of architectural styles of the homes, and the intentional way they are laid out. The Villebois concept was inspired by a quaint, European villeage. The name Villebois means ‘village near the wood’ in French. The neighborhood plan radiates out from the Village Center, at heart of which is Piazza Villebois. Surrounding Piazza Villebois will be higher-density housing: apartments, townhomes, rowhomes, and condos. The further you move away from the Piazza, the larger the homes and lots become. Say goodbye to the beige box. With a commitment to choice and beauty, Villebois offers a range of stunning styles in everything from starter homes to large estate homes.

8. Wilsonville is awesome.

Proximity to the Interstate 5 freeway, great schools, a wonderful library, lots of well-maintained parks and fountains…. These are all some of the things that make Wilsonville, OR unique and wonderful. We’ve got the McMenamin’s Old Church Pub (a renovated an old church turned into a restaurant & event space) with an outdoor amphitheater for live summer music. Other restaurants include Abella Italian Kitchen, Oswego Grill, Dar Esselam Moroccan, Chinese, Thai, and the list goes on. Fred Meyer, Lamb’s Thriftway, and Albertson’s provide grocery options in walking/biking distance. Wilsonville is on the cusp of wine country, esquestrian playgrounds, and fertile farmland. You can bike or walk easily to downtown Wilsonville (which is essentially town center loop) where all the main commercial and parks exist. We have an amazing city staff that put on a ton of fun events for the community. We have SMART transit that runs bus service and a trolley in the summer in addition to WES Commuter Rail.
